The tradition and spirituality of the East and the new technology and medical innovation of the West in caring for people with cancer meet and integrate in the 8th International Conference of the Asian Clinical Oncology Society (ACOS) on September 21-24, 2008 in Manila, Philippines.
With the theme, “East Meets West: Multidisciplinary Approach to Cancer Care”, the Philippine Cancer Society and the Department of Health have invited speakers from around the world who are well-known and respected in their area of expertise, sharing updates in oncology medicine towards multidisciplinary cancer care. Asian experiences in dealing with cancer patients will also come distinctively in the discussions.
And there is no other fitting site for this meeting of the East and West than in mega Manila. The convergence of geography and history has made Manila a unique and dynamic crossroad of Eastern and Western influences. While seemingly Western in appearance with its shopping malls, high-rise hotels and glass-and-metal skyscrapers, the city and its people have retained a deep core of Eastern hospitality.
We look forward with enthusiasm your visit in Septmber 2008. Rest assured, you will find your stay in Manila relaxing, stimulating and interesting.
Mabuhay!
